Yoga for Tight Hips and Hamstrings
One of the most common complaints of yoga students during their practice is tight hips and hamstrings. With more than 10 muscles crossing the hip joint, these greatly affect the motions of not only the hips, but also the low back, pelvis and knees. All of these can have a great impact on your yoga practice and some of the most common poses (asana) performed in class.
Come learn about the anatomy of the hips and related structures, and how the muscles surrounding the low back, pelvis and hips can be stretched and lengthened to allow for greater freedom of movement, allowing for deepening into poses safely and effectively. The workshop will include both lecture and a yoga practice. Open to all levels of yoga practitioners, but some experience is preferred.
