Taste of Teacher Training: Trauma and Sensitive Yoga
Research is showing that our emotional experiences leave an imprint on our body, affecting our emotional and physical selves. Yoga can be an empowering experience helping individuals develop somatic resources that help ease feelings of helplessness, fear, depression, , shame, arousal, and disconnection that is often the consequence of trauma. It helps by releasing held tension, paying attention to the present, and regulating the nervous system. This teacher training module will focus on understanding what trauma is, how it impacts individuals and how to create a safe healing environment.
